Pillow Heaven

I am going to be moving into a new apartment in a few months and I am going to be upgrading from my tiny sofa to a hand-me-down full size sofa and love seat that my parents have in their basement.

Up side: I am getting 2 really nice free sofas.

Down side: They are pinkish-purple plaid.

Needless to say I am going to be putting a slip cover on those.  I found some great slip covers from Pottery Barn for $139 to cover the sofas. But the neutral slip covers have got me thinking about jazzing up my soon-to-be living room with some new hand made pillows. Plus, what is more fun that recovering your throw pillows with new, fun fabric? It is one of the easiest (and cheapest) ways to give a room a face lift. Here are a couple of my ideas:

I love this combo of bright red, yellow and turquoise with cream.

I like this color pallet a lot too. These fabrics all have patterns on them, but the colors are more toned down and calm so that they still work together.

.This scheme is a nice mix of bright and calm. The blue and orange are bright but the linen pillow is more relaxed. These are also a nice mix of high-pattern, light-patten and solid.

All of these fabrics I found on fabric.com and they are all under $12/yard!
