Yesterday was quite the Sunday if you ask me. To get the day started I woke up to snow in Nashville!
ok..... so it wasn't this much snow... in fact it barely even stuck to the ground, but hey, in the South we will take what we can get.
Anyway, I woke up to a beautiful scene this morning, and then Matt came to pick me up from church. Due to the snow dusting, we decided not to risk the roads and stayed home to do Bible study together instead. We had a really great talk and got started on the next study we are going to do : The Pursuit Of God by A.W.Tozer
Next I went over to my next door neighbor's house to babysit their three precious girls (1.5yrs-6yrs). The girls were napping when I got there which gave me a chance to do a little reading and sit by the fire while sipping some fresh coffee. It was so nice to have a chance to just sit and be still be still with the Lord.
And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested. Gen 2:2
Today is Sunday, the Sabbath, and the Lord has given me a chance to rest. It makes me see how often I run around "taking care of business" when the business God wants from me is to rest with him for a while.
Once the girls woke up we made hot chocolate and had a snack and made a fun time out of our not-so-snowy snow day. I feel so blessed by the love God showed me yesterday, Through the beauty of the snow falling, through time spent with Matt in Bible study, through the time i was given to be alone in study with the Lord during nap-time, and through the smiling faces on the precious little girls when they woke up. God is so good to us, and I don't think I recognize his blessings enough.
