Design Tip: Hidden Bulletin Board

Well, I am moving this weekend so my house is starting to look like a danger zone. I am sure some of you can relate.

In the midst of my packing I thought I might share a design tip with you. I call it the hidden bulletin board.

See how the bulletin board basically blends right into the wall? This is SO EASY to make.

All you need to do is buy a frameless cork board from any superstore like Walmart or Target. I used cork board tiles (they are about 1'x1'). Any size will work it just depends on what you need for the space you are using to hang the bulletin board.

Then just paint the cork board with the same paint that you used on the wall where you are hanging the bulletin board. Mine just happened to be a white wall (because I still rent) so my boards are white but this could literally work for any wall or space, as long as you have a little bit of the original paint from your home left (or you could buy a little paint from a hardware store that matches closely to your wall color)

To hang the boards I just nailed straight through them with a small nail. Then I used a little dab of the same paint to cover the nails.

This is such an easy project and it really turns out great. It could be a great application for over a desk, in a kitchen or in a bedroom where you want to hang a bulletin board for notes and photos, but don't really want to draw too much attention to it. The finished product looks like a collage right on the wall. It gives a very finished and clean look to a space.

I like to use straight pins rather than tacks because they are less chunky. I have these fun multicolored ones but they also come in plain white or silver.
