I can NOT believe it is february already! 2013 is already flying by, but the good news is that Valentine's day is right around the corner! I know V-day can cause mixed emotions in some of us, but I personally love it. I think Valentines provides a good reminder to all of us to tell those loved ones of ours how much we care about them.
Valentines day is also a really fun holiday to decorate for! There is less pressure to go all out then there is for Christmas, but it is still easy to find some really cute ways to fill your house with some L-O-V-E. One of my favorite ways to decorate is with heart garland. You can string garland just about anywhere and it is so so so easy to make yourself.
I love how these look strung over this headboard. Wouldn't this be fun to do for your kids?
These are great too, I really like how the cluster of hearts looks. Using garland like this would make a perfect party decoration.
Heart garland can be made out of just about anything.... felt, fabric, craft paper, book pages, wrapping paper, I have even seen it done from melting wax into the shape of hearts. All you need is a little time and some string to get started.
But if you don't have the time, or just want to buy some pre-made garland there are LOTS of options available on Etsy. Like this garland shown above.
Emily over at Jones Design Company had a great idea this year for a variation on heart garland for her children's doors. Each day she will ass a new heart with something she loves about each child written on it. Head on over to her site for a tutorial and some free pint-outs!
I think I will make some heart garland for our mantle during the Super Bowl Sunday night... cause lets be honest, all I really care about is the commercials anyway. Do you like decorating for Valentine's day?
