This past weekend I had the chance to head to the mountains with a group of friends for a little "friendsgiving" getaway. The weekend in general could not have been more perfect... I mean just look at that view from our porch ?he weather was amazing and it was so nice to get away from schedules and agendas and enjoy one another for a weekend.
We took a hike on Saturday and I was just so blown away by the beauty around me. Fall is my favorite season, but as I reflect on my current "season" of life I realize that (although it may not look the way I want it to) I have been beyond blessed by the Lord. The second night of our trip we cooked a big dinner together and as we finished out meal each of us took a turn to say something that we are thankful for. Over and over the reoccurring thing that was shared was our thankfulness for the community we have. I can honestly say that my community in Nashville is one of the greatest blessings in my life -not just friends, but mentors, family (lookin' at you Rachel), friends that have become family, my church, my clients and people that I work with- all have played such a key role in who I am today. two years ago I wouldn't have pictured my life where it is right now, its been a rocky road the last couple years, but the Lord has been so faithful to put people in my life to help me come back to life. They laugh with me and celebrate with me... pray for me, encourage me, listen, joke, dance... you name it. This Thanksgiving I am grateful for so many things, but at the top of my list would be the community that the Lord provided me in Nashville, and the gift of walking through life with them.
"Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; His faithful love endures forever." Psalm 118:1
