Well the weather outside is frightful.... oh wait, never mind, it was 70 degrees over the weekend. When my friend Elaina asked me to do some maternity photos for her I was so excited; I love it when I have the opportunity to do photos with friends! We decided to embrace the December conditions and make it a wintery photo session by taking some outdoor photos at Radnor Lake... what we didn't expect was that the temperature would feel more like Spring than mid-December. It was nice not to have frozen fingers during the session... but it gave us all a good laugh being bundled up in boots and sweaters for the sake of photos while joggers ran by in shorts.
Speaking of Radnor Lake in the Winter... if you are brave enough to face the cold (Winter is coming.. just not yet I guess) you should definitely go hiking out there in mid/late January. A little known Nashville secret is that Radnor uses donated Christmas trees to re-mulch the trails after the holidays. It is one of my favorite traditions to go hiking out there during that time. The smell on the trails is amazing and it helps softens the after-holiday-blues too.
