Decorating for the holidays is always something that I look forward to every season! Although, I am an avid "no Christmas decorating until AFTER Thanksgiving" believer..... black Friday it is game on at my house. I had the opportunity last year to partner with the ladies over at Womanista on a fun Holiday decor project! I thought it would be fun to reshare that post in case you missed it and need a little inspiration this year - don't we all?!
This year's decorating was even more special because I had the opportunity to work with the Executive Editor at Womanista.com, Falon Terry, to help her get her home in top holiday shape. (see the full home tour here) It was fun working together to come up with a plan using some things she already had from previous years as well as adding new holiday items to style her gorgeous home for Christmas!
Special thanks to Lindsay Letters for this amazing Bethlehem canvas. It was the perfect addition to our family room mantle design.
While I was brainstorming a plan for this holiday décor project, my main objective was to add a little glamour to the more formal spaces of Terry's home while keeping the look consistent with the more informal family areas. I wanted the décor to flow with the overall feel of the home --sophisticated, but without being too dressy. In my opinion the best holiday décor always blends in with the overall style of the home; it shouldn’t look out of place or forced. To pull off this look, we decided to use mostly metallics and neutrals throughout the house and then add in some touches of red and green to give things a festive flare. Head on over to Womanista and check out the full home tour to get your Christmas week started off right with some holiday inspiration!
