I have been a fan of designer Victoria Hagan since I first became interested in interior design. In fact her book Interior Portraits is one of my favorite design books to reference. She has an amazing eye, so when Architectural Digest released an inside look into her Nantucket beach home I was beside myself. Since I am heading to the beach for the weekend I thought it might be fun to share my thoughts on her beach home with you - I mean, who wouldn't want to relax on vacation in a place like this?
I have always wanted to go to Nantucket in the summer... its on my list of things to see. I just know I would fall in love with the architecture and style there, not to mention the weather and the coast. I have heard it is beautiful. Victoria did a great job designing this house to have a coastal feel without being overly "beachy". I love the way she kept the color scheme completely neutral with the only accent color being soft blue throughout the house. I also love the mix of textures and hues she used by mixing in iron hardware and warm wood flooring along with all the whit and cream.
This master suite is absolutely stunning. I could relax in any room in this house for weeks on end, but the master bedroom is my favorite. The only thing that I would change is the artwork over the bed, it feels a little to modern for this house in my opinion. I do, however, love that rattan chair in the bathroom. It adds just the right contrast to all the white and marble.
