I always get excited when I see a project start to really come together. It is such a fun process to have an idea for a room, and little by little see it come to life before my eyes as the pieces go into place. Even better is when I hear my clients say how much they love a room that I helped them design! Thats the point right? To design homes for my clients that they LOVE living in. Although we are still working on the majority of the rooms at this house, the dining room is just about done! I couldn't be happier with the end result.
We wanted to keep things simple and modern so we went with a white marble tulip table and these sleek brass chairs. This dining room is not very big and is a little on the narrow side, so we opted for an oval table that would make the best use of the space. I used the "Dinner Party" wallpaper by Jill Malek in color macchiato to make the walls really pop. Since this room can be seen from multiple angles around their home I wanted to make it stand out and I knew this wallpaper would be perfect. Plus the wine ring design adds a little quirky spin to the space. (We used another Jill Malek paper - Voyageur - in the powder bath and I hope to show you photos of that space later on) We finished off the room with dark sheer draperies and an iron Darlana lantern to bring a little boldness to the space and contrast the brass and marble.
This was my original concept board for the dining room. We changed a few things from the original design but stayed true to the overall aesthetic. I am really happy with the way this room turned out and I cant wait to show you more spaces as this project progresses!
