As some of you may have seen on Instagram, a few weeks ago I painted my living room pink. I'm not talking Barbie pink... its more of a blush color. When I first had the idea, I almost immediately shrugged it off. I thought "Nah, I cant have a pink living room... I'm 29, not 7." But after that I couldn't shake the thought. I kept imagining what my walls would look like in pink. I kept thinking about how my sofa pillows and Andy Warhol Lip print would pop. Well.... the next thing I know I am covered head to toe in pink paint and begging my sister to come help me roll on a second coat.
Now that I have my own pink room at home, I have been noticing more and more pink-inspired interiors lately... and I am loving it! I think blush tones are so pretty and soothing. Whether used on walls, curtains, furniture or accessories, pink is such a great (but sometimes overlooked) color. This previously childish color isn't just for little girls anymore. I could not be happier with the result of my paint job! I absolutely love my new pink walls. It just makes me so happy to come home and walk in my front door and see my pretty, girly, unexpected pink room. And at the end of the day... shouldn't our homes make us happy? Even if it requires going for the unexpected?
