I have been a girl on the go lately! Last weekend I took a little road trip up to Chicago to see Coldplay in concert. The weekend could not have been more perfect (well, except for maybe the intense heat and torrential downpour that happened as we were headed to the show). It was only my second time visiting Chicago, but I can definitely say that it is already one of my favorite cities. There was no shortage of things to do, the city was so clean, the views were amazing, the "beach" was gorgeous and everyone we met was so kind and friendly. I am already missing it!
Before leaving on my trip this pretty Jord wood watch showed up on my doorstep! I can honestly say it has become one of my favorite accessories! The wood grain compliments the champagne face of the watch and made it really easy to pair with my other jewelry. (I am wearing the Zebra Wood + Champagne one. See it here.) I love the way this watch could be dressed down for a casual brunch, or dressed up for our nights out on the town. In an age where we all check the time on our phones I found it really nice to be wearing a watch again. I wasn't having to dig around in my purse as much and could enjoy all the sights around me while still being on time for our appointments in the city!
My trip to Chicago with Whitney was a dream! We saw and did so many fun things I can't believe we were only there for 3 days! I guess it's true what they say... Time really does fly by when you are having fun! Make sure to check out Whitney's Chicago City Guide over on Blonde Atlas today for our list of reccos if you are planning a trip of your own sometime soon!
Prior to my Chicago trip I took a quick drive down to Chattanooga with my sister to visit my cousin while he is interning there this Summer. It was fun to take a little one-nighter sister trip and get to explore Chattanooga. I have always driven through there on my way to Atlanta or see family at our farm in Alabama, but I hadn't taken the time to actually stop and explore the city. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised! We went to the aquarium and ate some great meals together. I was impressed by a lot of the architecture around the city and (similar to Chicago) I loved how the river ran right through the center of town. There are lots of gorgeous places to go hiking, or kayaking too.
I brought my Jord wood watch along on this trip as well and my sister liked it so much she asked to borrow it for part of the afternoon! (What are sisters for, if not to borrow each other's jewelry, right?). Well, no worries Rachel... you can get one for yourself now too!
Today, I am thrilled to be hosting a giveaway with Jord! One lucky winner will receive a $75 voucher toward a watch of their own! And EVERYONE who enters will get a $20 voucher - how great is that?? Just click the link below to enter - the contest will close at midnight on 8/8/16 - good luck!
