Over Labor Day weekend my family took a trip to NYC to do a little sight seeing and watch some of the US Open tennis tournament. I have been to NYC several times in the past and each time feels like a whole new trip. There is so much to do in the city that I can't ever seem to pack enough in! This particular trip we opted to spend a whole afternoon in Central Park which was a much needed change of pace from my typical 90mph trips to the city.
We rented bikes and rode the entire bike loop through the park which was an absolute dream. It was fun to get to see the whole park (not just bits and pieces) and really take it all in. Any of my Nashville friends will tell you that I ride my bike around town any chance I get, so having a day to ride through Central Park was such a blast!
I wore my new loafers from Artemis Design Co. (check them out here) during our day in the park and I must say that I absolutely LOVE them! Being a designer, I already have a thing for vintage kilim rugs... so when I first stumbled upon Artemis Design Co. I knew I had to get some. Since I knew we'd be doing a lot of biking and exploring I thought it made sence to wear a simple romper for the day, and I love how the loafers gave my outfit just the right amount of edge, while still being practical for so much activity.
I am already dreaming about my next trip to NYC and about my next pair of kilim loafers too. haha. I love that each pair is unique and while they may have a sophisticated look, these bad boys can take some wear and tear too! Best of both worlds if you ask me... I mean think about it, in a past life they were a rug that was made to be worn and walked on.
I always get the blues a little when an adventure comes to an end, but this trip to NYC did not disappoint! Its hard to beat great weather, good food, awesome tennis and a whole lot of family time!
Don't forget to check out Artemis Design Co. either!
