My Bedroom re-do

First, I just want to say a big THANK YOU to all of you who have been praying for me. The past month has been a really challenging one in my life, but I have seen the Lord carry me through it. I have faith and confidence that He is not done working in my life and I am trusting him everyday. Thank you all for being so kind and understanding in my absence. I really do have the best community of friends around me!

Today I have some exciting news for all of you! I have decided to completely re-do my master bedroom (along with changing/adding a few other things around the house). As a designer I always have my eyes out for furniture items that I like and I feel like I am always hypothetically designing and redesigning my own home in my head. I am excited to get some new pieces for myself and really see my room come together. I decided to really go all out dream-girl on this bedroom. I am planning to use a soft pallet of colors in light, blush pink tones and maybe a few pale blue or mint green shades thrown in. I am planning to keep the furniture very neutral with a mix of antique items with a few more modern ones.

Here is what I am thinking as far as accent colors:

And here is my design board for the new room. I am still finalizing the furniture selection but this will give you an idea of the look I am going for:

What do you think? Its still a work in progress and will take a couple months to get everything pulled together. Keep checking in for updates!

Rain Rain go away

I am sure all the rest of you southerners out there can relate to this, but we have had the rainiest summer ever this year! Don't get me wrong I am really enjoying the cooler temps but it sure has made it hard for me to get a good tan going. This week has been super rainy (I woke up to new of flash floods all over middle TN), and I am headed to the beach this weekend so I am gonna be doing a rain dance all day today trying to ward off any clouds that might be headed for FL. Fingers crossed.

But if it MUST rain (I know the plants need it... my garden is booming this summer), then this is how I would like to be spending my rainy Friday:

Doesn't this sunroom look heavenly for a rainy day? I would sit here all day snuggled one the sofa and just listen to the rain.

This blanket from Serena and Lilly would the the perfect thing to cuddle up with..

Along with a nice hot cup of coffee out of this hilarious Kate Spade mug!

And of course every rainy day needs a good book. Am I right? This one is a classic... if you haven't read Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers yet, please do! It is an amazing story of love that parallels how God loves us and I just can tell you how good it is. I have read it multiple times myself.

What is your favorite thing to do on a rainy day?

The Paris Market

No.... I didn't visit a real market in Paris. I wish. However, I did stumble upon the adorable shop called The Paris Market in downtown Savannah, GA and I just had to share it with all of you. This place was right up my ally. I probably could have bought everything in there if Matt hadn't been with me to hold me back. This store had every cute think you could think of in it, all with a Parisian influence. I talked about my love for french design here, so you all know that I love it. (sorry for the overload of pictures)

This is the view right when you walk in the store. I didn't even know where to start everything was so darling!

There are rolled up "Paris Market" t-shirts in all of those bread bags in the baskets. Isn't that clever?

This was the "kids corner,." They had the best unique toys, clothes, blankets, you name it for kids. Too bad I dont have any baby showers coming up.

All of these little jars and vases have individual buttons and beads in them for making your own jewelry. Such a great way to display them all.

This was a whole station of fresh herbal teas. I am not even a huge tea drinker but the packaging made me want to buy them all!

This was super clever.... it was a bin of "grab bag" vintage jewelry. Basically each bag had an assortment of vintage jewelry and for $5 you could buy a bag and discover the treasures inside.

Everything in the store was impeccably marketed. The display cases and tables were arranged so that you felt as if you were stumbling upon a treasure with each step, rather than looking over merchandise. I am really wishing we had this store here in Nashville.

Have you ever stumbled upon a store that just took you by surprise and made you want to linger all day?
